Stradivarius in ‘great form’ for Goodwood
Stradivarius is in ‘great form’ and ‘enjoying life’ ahead of Tuesday’s Qatar Goodwood Cup hat-trick bid, John Gosden has confirmed.
The five-year-old is in a strong run of form with seven successive wins, including a second victory in last month’s Royal Ascot Gold Cup. Stradivarius is now expected to emulate the Mark Johnston-trained Double Trigger by winning the two-mile race for a third time this week. He will face eight rivals at Goodwood, but Gosden is feeling positive despite the weight disadvantage. He told Racing TV: ‘Obviously he carries a lot more weight here as the three-year-olds come into the race and they’re getting a lot of weight – we know about that as he won it as a three-year-old.‘He’s in great form and looks to be really enjoying life at the moment, so let’s hope it goes well for him on Tuesday.’
