Galway goal for Sole Pretender
Trainer Norman Lee believes Sole Pretender is a real contender going into next month’s Galway Hurdle.
Sole Pretender has three wins in as many starts this season and Lee now his his sights set on the August 1 showpiece at the Galway Festival. ‘Things are going grand – it’s three and a half weeks until Galway and we’ll have to get there in one piece. He’ll go to the Curragh for a day away between now and then,’ he told the Racing Post. ‘We’ve never had a winner at Galway, we were unlucky one year when we had a horse [Supreme Vic] finish second when she carried two pounds overweight.‘He was always a good horse and he’s progressing nicely. We’re delighted to have a horse for a race like the Galway Hurdle.’
