Haggas provides Sea Of Class update

Trainer William Haggas says Sea Of Class remains in a critical condition as she continues to battle against a bout of colic.

The condition has brought the four-year-old’s racing career to a premature end and she is continuing to receive intensive veterinary care after undergoing an operation last week.

Haggas has now provided an update on the condition of Sea Of Class, admitting she is still facing a long battle if she is to recover.

‘There is no news at the moment.

In some ways I suppose that’s good news,’ Haggas revealed.

The 58-year-old went on to confirm that the filly is doing as well as could be expected before describing her condition as ‘critical, but stable’.

Sea Of Stars claimed two Group One triumphs during her career in the Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks, while she lost out by a short neck to Enable at last year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.

The Sunderland Holding Inc-owned horse’s final run came in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot last month, but she could only finish fifth as she struggled on the soft ground.
