Daahyeh ‘looks great’ for Newmarket – Varian
Daahyeh is said to look ‘better and stronger’ going into Friday’s Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket, according to Roger Varian.
The two-year-old filly will take her two-race unbeaten record into the Group Two outing after a victory in Royal Ascot’s Albany Stakes on June 21. Varian believes the Duchess of Cambridge Stakes is the ideal outing for Daahyeh and warned her rivals that she looks in better shape than her previous outing. The Newmarket handler said: ‘The plan is to run in the Duchess Of Cambridge, and she will have a little work-out on Tuesday morning. ‘She looks great. You never make commitments in the immediate aftermath of Ascot, because you want to see how they come out of the races – especially the young horses – but she has really taken that race in her stride. ‘She looks even better and stronger since the Albany. ‘If we are happy with her I think this is the logical race to run her in – and I think she is in great form.’
