Fell Veteran Rings A Bell
Quick Return To Get A Double For Miler
It was just the middle of last week that the Roger Fell trained ROUSAYAN took the ultra-competitive Carlisle Bell and he races off a mark just four pounds higher to try to take the John Quinn Racing Handicap at Pontefract. He pulled off a similar five-day double for David O’Meara at Beverley in the summer of 2017, winning off 79 and then 85, so the task is very much within his capabilities. Both the hood and jockey Ben Curtis are employed again and the trainer is running at a decent 15% at the moment, whilst ground and the uphill finish are ideal. SMILE A MILE and CASEMENT are next best on BTO ratings with the former looking progressive and the latter well suited to course and distance with a win and second here, rather than the longer 10 furlongs he tackled at Leicester last time.SPORIAD represents David O’Meara and won well at Redcar last time, but it was a weak race. Anything around 7/2 looks fair about Rousayan in an eight-horse race. G Lees
