Sea Of Class set for King George VI run

Sea Of Class loses colic battle

Trainer William Haggas has confirmed Sea Of Class is still set to run in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes next month.

The four-year-old failed to perform at Royal Ascot last week when he finished fifth in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes on Wednesday.

Sea Of Class failed to back up the form that saw him finish second in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and connections had considered giving the filly a rest.

However, Haggas claims the ground was at fault for her poor run, with the changing weather conditions making life difficult for all trainers last week.

When asked about his plans, Haggas told reporters: ‘She’s fine, thankfully.

‘The plan was always to go for the Prince of Wales’s, and then the King George, so I don’t see why that should change.

‘All options are still open, and it will depend on what happens in the next couple of weeks.

But as far as I’m concerned, she’s absolutely fine – and I won’t run her on soft again.’
