Connections wait on Frankellina Oaks decision
Connections of Frankellina will wait until the weekend before deciding if she will participate in the Investec Oaks on May 31.
The William Haggas-trained daughter of Frankel finished in a dead-heat for second alongside Entitle having been beaten by a neck by Nausha after struggling in the final 100 yards of last week’s Musidora Stakes at York. Owner Anthony Oppenheimer admitted that the race on the Knavesmire took a lot out of Frankellina so they will give her time to recover before making a firm decision on the Epsom trip. He said: ‘I have talked to William since, but all he said was he’d wait to see how the filly came out of the race. ‘She had quite a hard race, especially for just her second ever run, and she was blowing for about 40 minutes after it.‘I don’t think we’ll decide (about the Oaks) until the five-day stage at the earliest – there’s no need to really. ‘She ran a nice race. She did get left in the stalls a bit, but I don’t think that made any difference to the result.’ Follow Racing365 on Facebook
