Cop A Winner At Bath

Follow Up On The Cards For Filly

Quick Returner Has Conditions To Get His Head In Front For First Time

A combination that ran third over course and distance just last Wednesday tries again today in the Empire Fighting Chance Handicap at Bath.

Local trainer Alexandra Dunn sends GENDARME up the road and partners him with last week’s pilot Rossa Ryan, as well as adding blinkers for the first time.

The horse was originally with Richard Hannon and ran a couple of decent races without winning for him before going to Dunn.

He nearly won on his first outing for her when going down in a photo to Music Maker on the Polytrack at Lingfield but his latest outing, when running on well to Singing The Blues was his best as that horse had won or been runner-up on all of his previous five outings.

The trainer is in form with four from 20 in the last fortnight and is estimated on BTO figures to be 52% better than expected when combining with jockey Ryan at the course.

The gelding goes off the same mark of 65.

AGENT GIBBS was fifth in last week’s race and opposes on the same terms, whilst ROC ASTRALE also ran five days ago but looks very one-paced.

BUTTERFIELD is being backed but at 9/4, Gendarme looks like wearing the maillot jaune this afternoon.
