Varian confirms duo for Newmarket
Qabala and Mot Juste will both feature in next weekend’s Qipco 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, trainer Roger Varian has confirmed.
Varian made the decision after the stablemates impressed in a workout on Friday with Qabala set to go into the race as the ante-post favourite on the back of her win in the Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket’s Craven meeting. David Egan was the jockey that day and he will again pair up with the three-year-old for the fillies’ Classic over the Rowley Mile. Mot Juste, who finished second to Qabala on April 16, will be partnered by William Buick because of Andrea Atzeni’s riding ban. ‘Having come through their work from yesterday morning very well, we are delighted to confirm that Qabala and Mot Juste are very much on course to run in the 1000 Guineas next weekend,’ Varian told www.varianstable.com.
