Leg break lay-off for Eaves
Tom Eaves is set to miss the rest of the season after suffering a broken leg in three places following a fall at Newcastle on Monday.
Eaves, who has enjoyed Group One success, was injured after being unseated from the Kevin Ryan-trained Savannah Moon a furlong and a half out in the Phil Eadon Allancia Handicap. He returned home after the fall, but his agent Richard Hale has confirmed that he went to hospital on Tuesday morning, where the severity of the injury was confirmed.
He said: ‘He’s broken his leg. He went for an X-ray this morning and has got three breaks.
‘He went home last night, then he was in that much pain they took him to hospital first thing this morning.
‘He’s having a full pot on his leg, so it will be a long job. He’ll be out for the rest of the season anyway.’
