Chapple-Hyam setting sights on Feilden with unbeaten Chares
Kempton winner two from since moving from France.
Jane Chapple-Hyam is looking towards next month’s bet365 Feilden Stakes with Chares, who made a successful British bow at Kempton on Wednesday evening. The three-year-old won each of his three starts for Christophe Ferland in France last term, including at Listed level, before changing hands for 710,000 euros in October. Chares made all to claim victory in the “Road To The Kentucky Derby” Conditions Stakes over a mile on the all-weather, but rather than the ‘Run for the Roses, a step up to nine furlongs back on turf could now await at Newmarket on April 14. “He’s absolutely fine this morning and he did it nicely,” said Chapple-Hyam on Wednesday. “I would like to go to the Feilden Stakes with him now, but I just need confirmation from his owner in Hong Kong. “I think it will be one step at a time, just taking it race by race. “I’ve had him since October and he’s a really nice, happy-go-lucky colt, no issues at all.”Follow us on Twitter racing365dotcom and like our Facebook page.
