Traffic hoping for Fluide National run
Trainer Gary Moore says Traffic Fluide has emerged unscathed from a fall this weekend and all roads now point to April's Grand National.
The 10-year-old looked to be on course for a shock Grade One victory in the Betfair Ascot Chase on Saturday, but a heavy fall at the last fence curtailed his hopes on what was his first run in 15 months. There were certainly concerns for Traffic Fluide immediately after his fall, but Moore has now allayed those fears. ‘He’s absolutely fine. He’s eaten up ever since, and he’s trotted up nice and sound as well. So thank goodness, all is OK,’ Moore revealed.‘He took a heavy fall, but he seems none the worse for it. He’s a battle-hardened old horse. ‘ That means Traffic Fluide is still on course for the Grand National at Aintree, although Moore has confirmed he would ideally like to squeeze in another run for the French horse between now and then. ‘I don’t want to go straight to Aintree, but it’s looking like I’ve got to – because I want to run him in a hurdle race, but I can’t find one for him that’s suitable,’ Moore added. ‘So if I have to take him straight to Aintree, then that’s what I’ll do.’
