Scott hoping Drasher is not on sidelines for long

‘Niggling injury’ for promising chaser.

Jeremy Scott hopes exciting novice chaser Dashel Drasher can recover from a recent setback and be back action in the spring.

Having chased home Grade One scorer Champ on his debut over fences at Newbury, before unseating behind the same opponent back at the Berkshire track, Scott’s charge made it third time lucky over fences with a taking success at Haydock.

Though not setting any targets for Dashel Drasher’s return, the Devon handler remains optimistic he will get him back on track before the end of the campaign.

Scott said: “Dashel Drasher has unfortunately picked up a niggling injury. Although it is not bad, it just means we are likely going to have to wait until the spring before getting him back out.

“I hope it is not a season-ending injury, but we will just take it as it comes.

“It’s a real shame, as I wanted to run him this weekend.”
