Start The Day With A Winning Brew
Quick Returner Set To Capitalise on Recent Form
The Monmouthshire stable of Ron Harris is having a tremendous Autumn with five winners from 21 runners in the last month and he looks to add to that today with old faithful SECRET POTION. The gelding could probably guide the horsebox to the course, having raced there 14 times, journeys that have produced two wins and five places, most at this five and a half furlongs trip. He is in form, after a second in a photo to Busby last week at Kempton and that horse had been second on his previous run, so the form is sound. The ground at Bath is soft, but that will hold no terrors for Secret Potion who was third on the heavy at Nottingham at the start of the month and who won on his second ever run on good to soft here at Bath. He goes off a mark of 68 today, a pound lighter than in those last two outings and David Probert takes the ride; he won on the horse at Chepstow four outings ago. Last year’s winner was OUR OYSTERCATCHER and he attempts to repeat the feat with a clear chance of success after a win and a second in successive races at Sandown. He goes off the same mark of 72 as on his last run but 4lb up on his winning rating. Runner-up on soft ground here back in June, he might fill that position again today. DOC SPORTELLO will have his supporters after an eye-catching effort when coming from last to nearly first at Sandown a month ago. Prior to that, though, there was little in his previous few runs to suggest a victory today and the cheekpieces he wore last time have been dispensed with for this afternoon’s run. Secret Potion can be easily found at 7/1 and that looks a good each-way bet in an 11 horse race. G LeesFollow us on Twitter racing365dotcom and like our Facebook page.
