Ms Parfois misses Grand National
Anthony Honeyball says concerns over a foot injury and the conditions mean Ms Parfois will miss the Randox Health Grand National.
Honeyball says the mare’s poisoned foot issue is not a major problem but, as the ground at Aintree is unlikely to be soft enough for her, he has decided to swerve the showpiece race. ‘She’s not running – it’s a combination of factors,’ said the trainer, as reported by Sky Sports. ‘She’s not quite right. She’s had a poisoned foot and is not sound today. We could probably get her right, but she’s not where we want her to be at the minute. ‘ He added: ‘The main issue with her would be the ground. There’s no rain in sight. I’m sure it would be lovely, safe ground, but with her we want to be running on soft, good to soft, or softer. ‘It’s another £1,700 to confirm her today and we can’t justify it. It’s a real shame.’
