Easterby mulling Royal Ascot options for Art Power
Group One or handicap date awaits Newcastle winner.
Tim Easterby is weighing up two options at Royal Ascot for his smart colt Art Power. Winner of two of his three starts to date, he could run in the Palace of Holyroodhouse Handicap over five furlongs on the Friday or go for Group One glory over six in the Commonwealth Cup on the same day. “He’ll run in either the handicap over five furlongs or we’ll head for the Commonwealth Cup over six,” said Easterby. “He was very impressive at Newcastle, he’s a good horse. “I think it’s a case of the softer the better for him, though, he appreciates getting his toe in. “He’s effective over both five and six, but the Group One looks a bit open this year so we’ve got to have a good think.”
