Grand National hat-trick still the Tiger Roll goal
Gordon Elliot feels the decision to cancel this year's Grand National was the correct call and says Tiger Roll will seek a third win in 2021.
Tiger Roll was seeking to become the first horse to win the world’s most famous steeplechase three years in a row, but the National hasnow been called off due to the coronavirus outbreak. While Elliot is disappointed Tiger Roll’s bid for history has been denied, the trainer accepts the authorities have made the correct decision and he says his charge will go for a hat-trick next year. ‘It is disappointing, but everyone from Aintree and involved in it has to do what’s right to get everything back on track,’ he told BBC Radio 4. ‘So, listen, we’re all on the one team, you know. ‘ He added: ‘There is every chance of him competing and he hasn’t got that many miles on the clock, and we will be training him back for the Grand National again.’
